Future Flyers is an Authorized Training Organization (ATO) as approved by the South African Civil Aviation Authority CAA/0331. The company originated in 2002 and is the only ATO with two branches in South Africa. The head office is situated in Jet Park, Johannesburg close to the OR Tambo International Airport and an office at Airport City in Cape Town.

Future Flyers is the leading private ATO in South Africa and provides training for various airlines and private candidates on all criteria as required by the CAA.

All instructors are qualified Flight Attendants with more than 30 years collective experience between them and four designated examiners to oversee all training and ensure absolute quality during training.

We are proud to mention that we are an ATO that provide Initial candidates with all the necessary criteria to become a Flight Attendant and to assist current license holders with the regulated recurrent / annual training to validate their licenses.

All training manuals, training syllabus and lesson plans are CAA approved with up to date training methods and equipment which in return ensure a high level of training which in turn will promote a good employment success rate at various airlines for students.

Future Flyers is also TETA accredited and a proud BEE Level 2 compliant company.

Information regarding the Cabin Crew Course

Duration: 6 Weeks - Monday to Thursday – 09:00 – 15:30

Friday – No class except for AVMED and Ditching training

Cost: R 22 597.50 (VAT Incl) (50% to be paid on registration and 50% - 30 days after the course has started)

Subjects to be completed and expected Competencies:

Medical:

Each student applying for a flight attendant’s licence at the Civil Aviation Authority of South Africa (CAA) must undergo an aviation medical examination with a CAA approved aviation doctor. This examination includes urine tests, eyesight and hearing test, chest x-rays, lung function and an ECG.

SEPT:

Safety Emergency Procedures Training deals with all possible emergencies onboard an aircraft. This includes flight attendant training requirements, standard operating procedures, theory of flight, security, emergency procedures and equipment, as well as Aircraft type ratings.

AVMED:

Aviation medicine training will enable you to save the life of a passenger should medical emergencies occur. This subject deals with accident injuries such as burns, fractures and medical situations like heart attacks, strokes, epilepsy, and asthma.

Modules to be covered: CPR & AED

Foreign body airway obstruction Medical Emergencies

Injury emergencies Environmental Emergencies Oxygen administration

Crew health & Medical Fitness

Effects of high altitude flying

Ditching:

The use of flotation devices e.g. life rafts and jackets after an emergency landing on water is completed during this exercise.

Dangerous Goods:

Limitations and safe carriage of such items

Fire Fighting:

Practical fire fighting exercises in an approved fire trainer.

Evacuation:

Practical evacuation from aircraft with slides

Licensing:

On completion of the course at Future Flyers Training Academy successful students must pass the CAA exam at the offices in Midrand or Cape Town to obtain a valid cabin crew licence, which allows them to operate on South African registered aircraft.

Future Flyers Training Academy exams and re-writes:

All students must pass a written exam after every module with 90%. Should a student fail with less than 10 % of the pass mark, one re-write will be granted. Should they fail for the second time the module must be repeated at the students own cost.

Redo module: Failure with less than 80% or failure of re-write R3850-00 per module.

Also included:

Interviewing skills and CV compilations for airlines is covered during Passenger Service Training (PST).

Study Material:

All study material will be supplied by Future Flyers Training Academy.

NOTE: Criteria for suitable candidates

ü Between 18 and 35

ü Presentable (height and weight in proportion)

ü Able to converse in English

ü Well groomed

ü Minimum height 1,56m

Information regarding the Advanced Cabin Crew Course

Duration: 3 Months - Monday - Friday – 09:00 – 15:00

Subjects to be completed:

1. Cabin Crew licence

2. Passenger Handling certificate

3. Train the Trainer certificate

4. Silver Service certificate

5. Service Excellence

Cost: R 34 442.50 (VAT Incl) (To be paid in 3 equal instalments)

Information regarding the Passenger Handling Course

Duration: 2 Weeks – Monday - Friday – 09:00 – 15:00

Subjects to be completed:

1. Regulatory framework and regulatory bodies operating within the aviation industry

2. Aircraft orientation/ type, the theory of flight, general knowledge of loads and balances

3. Geography and concepts pertaining to aviation

4. Human factors in aviation

5. Occupational Health and Safety and ensuring Passenger safety from start to finish

6. Aviation Security and Safety/ Dangerous Goods Handling

7. Customer service excellence

8. Team Work and working with people

9. Managing irate passengers and customer complaints

10. Managing the Passenger Handling Process

Cost: R 5 520.00 (VAT Incl) (Full once-off payment with registration)

Important information

Future Flyers is a training academy for future cabin crew in South Africa and although we will assist all students as much as possible to secure a position at an airline we are not a placement agency and do not guarantee employment to any student.

These are questions that you should ask training organizations before enrolling

Is the facility accredited with the CAA and the approval number?Does the course include the DD50 Medical, CAA Licensing and all the mentioned practical components?Do you have the actual license and not just certificates in hand after completion of the said course?Is the aircraft rating relevant to a scheduled commercial airline?Are all practical exercises conducted in an environment relevant to the aviation industry?
