Stellenbosch University's Faculty of Science will again host its popular Science Winter Week for Grade 11 and 12 learners interested in following a career in the mathematical sciences, the physical or biological sciences.
The Science Winter Week, which will take place from 17-21 June 2019, offers learners the opportunity to gain first-hand experience of BSc-related study programmes offered in the Faculty of Science and career options. Learn more about study fields in chemistry, physics, geoinformatics, sport science, botany and zoology, mathematics and applied mathematics, computer science, human life sciences, earth sciences, data science, bioinformatics, molecular biology and biotechnology.
The high light of the week is “Meet a scientist", where learners can interact with professional natural scientists from a wide range of industries and institutions and explore how an initial BSc degree can become a springboard for a career in the natural sciences.
According to Ms Ntsiki Langa, recruitment officer for the Faculty of Science, this holiday programme is ideal for those learners who want to know how they can transform their interest in subjects such as chemistry, numbers, plants, cells, animals, atoms or genetics into a successful career.
The application fee of R2 200 includes all meals and accommodation in a university residence. The closing date for applications is 10 May 2019.
