San art

Author: Florian Kuehn

San Art are drawings that were made by the San tribe.

The San tribe was the oldest tribe in the world and existed in southern Africa. They were hunter gatherers and mostly stay in small groups. There are still a few people that live like the San but they do role-play about it.

The San people often drew cave paintings in small groups of three. What they did was that they crushed mushrooms and smoked them and get high. After getting high they would start to draw the paintings. The paintings mostly showed hunters and elephants or buck.

Did you know that the Cederbergs are said to be the place with the most rock paintings per kilometre in the whole world!
